We here at the 9th pride ourselves on being an open group, meaning that we are not sponsored by any organisation other than the parents, carer’s, friends and children of our group. Hence the need for continuous fundraising activities.
Our youngest section Beavers start as young as 6 years old and meet each Friday 5.15pm to 6.30pm. With a packed programme of crafts games and elementary life skills earning badges that culminate in the Bronze award.
Whilst our Cub section aged from 8 years meet each Wednesday 6pm-7.30pm. They regularly get involved in community activities, camping and more advanced life skills earning badges that contribute towards their Silver award.
Scouts who are aged from 10 and half meet each Friday 7pm -9pm. They have a varied spread of activities that become more adventurous and challenging such as outdoor survival skills, sporting and social events that combine to form their Gold award.
For the older child aged 14 and half to 18 we have our Explorer section. Currently meeting each Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm.
All our scout’s sections enjoy Archery, Hiking, Climbing, Camping and making the most of the great outdoors and enjoying an adventurous life to the full.
Our fully equipped hall situated within its own gated grounds in central Bexhill is also for occasional hire with ample parking close by.
If your child is interested in joining us we let them have a trial for three weeks, before that terms subs (£30) are requested. At their fourth meeting with us we ask that an investiture pack comprising of group scarf, woggle, essential badges and badge book all contained in a group drawstring bag is purchased for £15.
Uniform needs to be purchased independently with many good quality items found at the popular online auction sites. Alternatively, new uniform can be bought at shop.scouts.org.uk
